Department of Technology

Started in 2008, the Department has young and dedicated faculty working both in pure and applied branches of Sciences who actively collaborate with their counterparts from the other engineering departments. The department aims to foster eclectism and excellence in mathematical education and research which is well poised between abstraction and application.

The Department of Applied Sciences and Basic Engineering is continuing from the date of DOT inception with a mission of imparting teaching and promoting implementation of practical aspects of Applied Sciences and Basic Engineering to build a solid foundation as part of the Engineering Education. It prepares the students for higher studies and for industries by imparting fundamental facets of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Professional Communication and first year Engineering Subjects.

The courses taught by the teachers of this department lay the foundation of engineering sciences. Professional communication is of particular importance for improving the vocal and written skills of students. An understanding of Physics and Chemistry is essential to several engineering subjects like electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering and engineering graphics. Mathematics is undisputedly important in all fields of engineering.

Our latest revision in curriculum is in line with NEP2020 guidelines. This revision with most of the features of NEP2020 is likely tobe in force w.e.f. AY 2023-24.
