The branch has well-equipped laboratories required for fundamental areas in Civil Engineering. The branch also provides in-house and outdoor consultancy services through faculties and students. |

ABOUT CIVIL ENGINEERING
We take immense pleasure to present B.Tech (Civil Engineering) course to the students. It is the core branch of engineering which highlights aspects necessary for infrastructure developments needed in any branch of engineering.
A Civil Engineer has to work in diverse fields viz. Building construction, Industrial Structures, Irrigation, Dams, Canals, Hydropower, Roads, Railways, Bridges, Docks and Harbours, Airfields, Tunnels, Environmental Engineering (including Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment Systems), Earthquake, Soil and Rock Mechanics, Remote Sensing, etc. The job of a Civil Engineer extends over a wide range of activities involving planning, analyzing, designing, construction and maintenance of various Civil Engineering work. A Civil Engineer is also responsible for the management of various resources, personnel, administration, finance and construction.
The curriculum of the course is structured such that, the students grasp the latest processes, methods, techniques, types of equipment, applications and automation. The field exposure gives insight into all features of the construction industry. The students are guided and motivated to evolve as perfect technocrats to satisfy the needs of the global construction industry. The course has been approved by AICTE New Delhi, DTE and Govt. of Maharashtra.
OPPORTUNITIES IN CIVIL ENGINEERING
Presently, infrastructure developments offer a wide scope for jobs as well as an entrepreneur in Civil Engineering.
A Civil Engineer has access to the public sector for employment through competitive exams like MPSC, UPSC, Railways, and Defense. The public sector undertakings are the Indian Aviation Authority, The Indian Railways, The CPWD, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, National Highway Authority of India, and Nuclear Power Corporation of India, Indian army, Many State PWD’s, Corporation and any work.
In addition, employment opportunities are in the private sector with leading construction companies like Larsen & Toubro, Tata Projects, HCC, Gammon India, Afcons, Sobha Developers, Punj Lloyd, Simplex, Ivrcl, Soma, DLF, SPCL, GMR Infrastructure, Shapoorji Pallonji and Co., Unitech, Nagarjuna Construction Company, etc.
Civil Engineers can themselves become job providers by becoming entrepreneurs and starting their own construction companies. Civil Engineers can also register themselves as contractors with various public sector undertakings. Civil Engineers get employed with various consulting organizations and can further become consultants. Civil Engineers can be post-graduation and further Ph.D. and also become researchers as well as faculty members in Engineering Institute.
HISTORY OF THE BRANCH: CIVIL ENGINEERING
This branch was established in the academic year 2011-12. Presently, the branch offers a B. Tech Civil Engineering Program with 60 intake capacity.
The branch is offering testing and consultancy services in almost all fields of Civil Engineering.
